Avoiding Emotional Eating At the Coffee Shop
Here’s a tip for when you’re at the coffee shop, and maybe that morning or afternoon you’re feeling a bit down, or really stressed out, or angry, and you’re looking at the counter and those fresh cakes and muffins and thinking “I’d really like a piece of cake or muffin to go with my coffee.”
What we need to do is take a step back and identify and ask the question “Why do I want this muffin or cake?” If it’s in relation to an emotion, we need to first identify that and be conscious that this is why we’re making this food choice.
And then later on, we’ll be able to find steps to find better options.
