Bio: Dr. Vivien Brown

Dr. Vivien Brown is a family physician in Toronto and is the Vice President for Medical Affairs, Medisys Health Group Inc. a national business dedicated to preventative health care. Educated at McGill University, she currently is appointed to the Department of Family & Community Medicine at the University of Toronto, holding the rank of Assistant Professor. Dr. Vivien Brown An award winner for teaching on many levels, her major interests are in the area of health promotion and prevention for women, and continuing medical education. Dr. Vivien Brown is particularly focused in the area of Adult Immunization and Vaccine Preventable Illness.

In 2009, Dr. Vivien Brown won the prestigious Enid Johnson McLeod Award from the Federation of Medical Women of Canada for teaching in women’s health. Most recently, Dr. Vivien Brown won the College of Family Physicians of Ontario has named Dr Brown “Physician of the Year for the Region of Toronto”, awarded November 2012.

Dr. Vivien Brown representing Family Medicine in Canada, she has been on the board of the Canadian Immunization Conference and currently is on the Board of “Immunize Canada”, an educational component of Public Health Canada. Dr. Vivien Brown is a certified Menopause Practitioner and has served as Consumer Education Chair for the North American Menopause Society.

Dr. Vivien Brown has lectured locally, nationally and internationally on preventative medicine and implementation issues around vaccination. Dr. Vivien Brown is the Toronto Branch President of the Federation of Medical Women of Canada, linking female physicians, students and residents throughout the country.
